Pete and his team did a great job transforming our draughty chalet into a cosy beach hut. He kept in regular contact and went the extra mile to get things done, calmly coping with all hurdles thrown at him including violent storms and a pandemic, and still keeping a smile on his face.

Due to planning restraints this chalet was in bad condition as was previously built on sand with no foundations. The rabbits had borrowed under the base which had caused the whole building to sing 8 inches one end. So we ended up stripping the inside of the building and Jacking the walls and roof up so we could remove the floor and cast a concrete ring beam foundation and replace the whole floor. Once this was achieved we lowered the building back down and replaced everything piece by piece.

  • Lifted building up
  • New concrete ring beam foundations
  • New floor, and walls
  • Fully clad
  • Fully fire boarded with match board finish
  • New layout inside with mezzanine
  • Fully insulated
  • Full rewire
  • New water supply
  • Energy efficient heating and lighting
  • Underfloor heating
  • New windows and doors
  • All new appliances fixtures and fittings

We started this job with the intention to replace the outer cladding but once started realised that main structure of the building was fairly rotten. Not Being able to take the building down and start fresh. Every bit of timber was replaced piece by piece to bring it up to building, fire regulations and make it watertight where we could then fully replace the inside and modernise making it more energy-efficient and more of a relaxing environment. All the design and build was done by a team.

  • Full internal support structure replace in situ
  • All new cladding
  • New roof Fully insulated
  • Full rewire and energy-efficient lighting and heating
  • Fire boarded and plastered
  • New water supply
  • New fixtures and fittings
  • New layout including mezzanine with bespoke ladder system
  • New outdoor seating with combined storage

This job was to update and bring up to building regs and fire standards but quickly realised that a lot of the building was past repair. So we made the decision to fully take it down and start from scratch. The new chalet was built to make it energy-efficient and to be given a modern look.

  • New floor and walls
  • New roof
  • Fully cladded
  • Re-designed and new layout on the inside with mezzanine
  • Fully fire boarded and plastered
  • Fully insulated
  • Full rewire
  • New water supply
  • New appliances and fittings
  • New patio and fencing

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the superb job you did refurbishing our beach hut. The attention to detail and your work ethic is amazing. I look forward to working with you again on our next project.

Works undertaken

  • Design and build access footbridge which was paid for by Tesco’s Community fund grant
  • We cleared and overgrown section of ground at the bottom of the playing field and then covered the area with bark chippings to make a more usable space
  • We created a new access path and landscaped the area
  • We then created dens, shelters, tunnels, balance walkways, seesaws, a mud kitchen, bug hotel and to top it off a little fire pit with seating using mostly recycled material
  • All the extra costs on Materials, hire and labour was covered by P Bluett ltd.
  • Once completed the kids were invited down where they could toast marshmallows on the fire and have hot chocolate. We also had some little activity set up that they could do like leaf stamping and a treasure hunt to find the marshmallows
